Personnel update from Zell: Top newcomer is faced with competitive premiere!

In the home win of the EKZ last Saturday against the Wipptal Broncos, the polar bears with Szypula, Huard, Jennes and Steffler were missing four top performers. Sometimes there is now positive news, sometimes the recovery takes a little longer than hoped for.

Newcomer Ethan Szypula is completely fit again and takes part in team training. He should be able to give his competitive premiere for the EKZ on Thursday in Val Gardena. Defender Kele Steffler will still be missing this week, but is already in the construction training. The number 23, Christian Jennes, starts upgrading training this week and will return to team training over the next few days. Whether he can already be there against Val Gardena is decided at short notice.

In the case of audience favorite Nick Huard, on the other hand, the convalescence will take a little longer. The Canadian has to undergo a unfortunately not avoidable intervention that has become acute, and is out of October. It is in the best medical care. The marathon man of last season (together with Putnik and Berger the only player who has played all 65 games including Preseason) will lack the polar bears – but injuries are unfortunately part of the sport.
