At the
Villacher SV The defense for the coming season is being intensively worked on behind the scenes – and a prominent name appears at the top of the list:
Connor Corcoran. The 25-year-old Canadian is at the end of his time
EC Red Bull Salzburg
faces an uncertain future and could now end up in Villach, according to the “Kronen Zeitung”.
Strong offensive defender
Corcoran is considered a modern two-way defender with clear offensive qualities. He demonstrated this impressively last season in Salzburg: in 47 league games he recorded a strong 11 goals and 18 assists, as well as further points in international competitions. It is exactly this creativity from the blue line that VSV is looking for.
Career between North America and Europe
The right-handed shooter comes from Markham (Canada) and was signed by the
Vegas Golden Knights
drafted. His development ultimately took him to Europe via the OHL (Windsor Spitfires) and stints in the AHL and ECHL. He only moved to Salzburg for the 2025/26 season.
VSV has been interested for a long time
According to the “Kronen Zeitung”, the VSV had already put out feelers to Corcoran last year, but back then they decided on Salzburg. Now it could work on the second attempt.
