A few days after Canada announced its squad for the Olympic ice hockey tournament, the nominees for the USA and Finland have now also been announced.
Finland will get into the action on the first matchday, February 11th. There “leijonat” has to deal with Slovakia. The USA plays its first group game the next day, the opponent is Latvia.
The Finns led by superstars like Mikko Rantanen, Sebastian Aho and Miro Heiskanen. Rantanen is in fifth place in the NHL scoring race with 56 points, Aho has exactly one point per game and Heiskanen has been one of the best all-round defenders in the entire league for years.

There were one or two surprises at the end with the “stars and stripes”. The Americans were without Jason Robertson – the best US scorer of the current season. Adam Fox and Lane Hutson were also not considered.
