NHL: Marco Kasper lets out his frustration in a fistfight!

The Detroit Red Wings suffered a heavy home defeat in the National Hockey League (NHL) with Marco Kasper. After the last two wins, the team with the 21-year-old Carinthian had to clearly admit defeat to the New York Islanders 0:5. For the Red Wings, who continue to lead the Atlantic Division, it was the second major loss to the Islanders this season. The New Yorkers won the first duel a month ago 7-2.

Kasper, who had 10:46 minutes of ice time, unfortunately deflected the puck with his shin from Mathew Barzal (24th) into his own goal when the score was 0:3. The frustrated center, who received a ten-minute penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct in the middle third, got along particularly badly with his Islanders opponents and left shortly before the end of the game with a victorious fistfight against Tony DeAngelo. “He’s frustrated. Maybe his fight will trigger something in him at the end,” Detroit coach Todd McLellan said.

Kasper has been without a scorer point for ten games

Kasper had 19 goals and 18 assists in his first year. In the last ten games, however, he did not manage a single point scorer. “Confidence is not something you have in your pocket and just lose at the mall or forget in the car,” McLellan philosophized. “Over time it goes away and you have to find ways to stop that momentum and get it back.”

For Detroit it was the ninth defeat in the 21st game of the season, while the Islanders ended a seven-game away series with their sixth win.
