The red jackets traveled to Budapest yesterday, where they meet for the first time as part of the Win2day Ice Hockey League on the Ferencváros league eul.
On the third matchday of the Win2day Ice Hockey League season 2025/26, the EC-KAC will compete at Ferencvárosi TC this Friday. The encounter is the first for the red jackets with the Hungarian record champion since 1997, it begins at 6.30 p.m. and is in the live stream on Sporteurope.tv.
The starting situation:
The EC-KAC opened the 2025/26 ICE season with a 4-0 home win against Fehérvár AV19, which followed a 1: 4 defeat at EC Salzburg. The red jackets played in a playful way to convince over long distances: 61 to 42 goal shots, 5.9 to 3.6 Expected Goals and 57.4 percent of disc owners are available after the first 120 league minutes of the season. On Friday, the EC-KAC will be back in Hungary again for the first time since December 2016, at that time they dueled in the Budapest city park Városliget in the open air with Székesfehérvár. Historically, the Klagenfurter, who came to the league in the league, summed up quite solidly, eight of the youngest eleven first duels with new ICE or EBEL new additions ended with a red and white success.
In its premiere game in Win2day Ice Hockey League last Friday, the Ferencvárosi TC had to give up EC VSV with 2: 4 last Friday, with two goals conceded in the first almost five minutes and the game Losing Goal already conceded in minute 14. They also had a safe backing (38 Saves) in Vienna with the national team goalie Bálizs.
The story:
In its club history, the EC-KAC has so far lost twelve times to the Ferencvárosi TC, none of these games have been lost for the Carinthian (ten victories, two draws). In addition to five friendly duels between 1931 and 1997, there were seven matches in European club competitions. The European Cup confrontations held in the back and forth in 1967, 1974 and 1977 all went to the red jackets (overall cores chronological: 10: 5, 13:11 and again 10: 5), also the group game in the Continental Cup- at the same time the last encounter of the two clubs on October 10, 1997- won the Klagenfurt (5: 3).
Personnel:
As on the first league weekend with the exception of Fabian Hochegger (upper body injury, no ice contact), all squad players are fit and operational with the EC-KAC. Accordingly, an identifier red jacket line-line is expected to be in the away game in Salzburg last Sunday. The team of Klagenfurt traveled to the Hungarian capital after the morning training on Thursday and will complete an optional Morning skate there on the day of the day.
