Vienna Capitals coach Constantine: “That was a pretty good game for us!”

The Vienna Capitals also won their second home game under head coach Kevin Constantine on Wednesday evening. The Donaustadt team celebrated a deserved 3-1 home win against his former club Hydro Fehérvár AV19.

Kevin Constantine, head coach of the Vienna Capitals, was happy afterwards:

“We played OK in the first third, but fell behind. Mitch Hults’ equalizer shortly before half-time was important for us from a psychological point of view. I really liked our second goal from Simon Bourque. He made a great shot, but Armin Preiser’s screen was essential for the goal, even if it doesn’t show up on the scoresheet. The power play goal was like a safety net for us, then you can take a deep breath and don’t have to go into the finish nervous. Jérémy Grégoire’s block a few seconds before the end was perhaps not necessary, but it was proof of what kind of guy he is. It was an important game for us defensively, and Evan Cowley also showed a good performance.
