The EC iDM Heat Pumps VSV celebrated an 8:5 home win in a goal festival against Olimpija Ljubljana, with which the Adler improved to ninth place in the table and are now five points ahead of eleventh-placed Budapest. In the fourth duel of the season it was the first win against fifth-placed Slovenia, who also suffered their first defeat after five league wins in a row. In front of over 3,400 fans in the Villach town hall, Adam Helewka and Guus van Nes particularly shone with a hat trick each. Villach never fell behind in the entire game and went into the first period with a 2-1 lead. In the second period the Eagles moved ahead to 4:1, but Ljubljana came within 4:5 by the 38th minute. In the final third, however, VSV left no stone unturned, increased to 7:4 by the 57th minute and ultimately celebrated the all-important home win.
