The SG Cortina Hafro celebrated a successful start at the start of the Alps Hockey League and won 3-0 on Sunday evening at HC Merano/O.
In the only game of the day, both teams gave their season debut in Merano. The guests from Cortina took command early on: Johannes Stoffling brought his team to the winning road in the middle of the first third. Shortly before the first break, Kris Pietroniro increased to 2-0 in power play.
The HCM tried to come back in the further course of the game, but it bit about the solid defensive and the strong cortina goalie. Seven overpayment situations remained unused, while Cortina used one of his five power plays to score. In the final minute, Niccolò Remolato provided the final score with an Empty-Empt.
The Head Coach Gaber Glavic team confidently started the new season with the 3-0 shutout, while Merano/O is hoping for the first points in the next game.
