Three shorthanders: Asiago unnerves Val Gardena!

In the only game of the day, HC Migross Asiago celebrated a 5-1 home win against HC Gherdeina valgardena.it. It was the third win in a row for the league returnees, while the crisis in Val Gardena continues to worsen – the South Tyroleans have only been able to win one of the last seven games. Impressive: Asiago scored three goals while outnumbered. Tomorrow, Wednesday, the Alps Hockey League continues with the game between EC Bregenzerwald and EK Die Zeller Eisbären.

Asiago was the dominant team from the start and took the lead in the 18th minute through Ryan Valentini. The Italian newcomer, who played for Innsbruck in the win2day ICE Hockey League last season, also scored to make it 2-0 in the 23rd minute. It was the striker’s first brace of the season and his goal scoring streak is now four games. Just 30 seconds after making it 2-0, Val Gardena had the chance to reduce the score to 1-2 with a penalty shot, but Sacha Guimond was denied by Asiago goalkeeper Rudy Rigoni.

Things got really wild in the final third: First, Val Gardena reduced the score to 1:2 after just 26 seconds, before the guests conceded three shorthanded goals in the following 13 minutes. Nicholas Porco scored twice while outnumbered, and Lucas Chiodo was also able to score for Asiago despite being numerically inferior and set the final point. In the table, Asiago improves to sixth place, while Val Gardena remains in ninth place.
