Another night for the history books of HCB South Tyrol Alperia. The Foxes prevailed 6: 5 after extension against the Czech champions of Kommeta Brno at home debut in the Champions Hockey League 2025/26. In front of almost 3,000 spectators in the Sparkasse Arena, one of the most exciting games developed in recent years: a constant exchange of blows with gates of the highest quality and enormous pace, which ended with two points for the white-red, which are now with five points. A deserved success – also in view of the 50 shots on the Czech housing (compared to only 18 of the guests). Another Czech representative, the Mountfield HK, will be a guest on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. On this occasion, the association organizes a family & student day.
Gameplay
Coach Kurt Kleinendorst sent the same line -up as last weekend on the ice and did without McClure and Seed. The guests started outnumbered after a little more than a minute and took the lead in the 3. minute: a nice individual performance by Flek, who prevailed between two defenders and pushed the puck past Harvey. The Foxes, on the other hand, could not use their overpayment situation, and Frank was revoked a goal for goalkeeper disabilities by Pollock. In the 10th minute, BRNO increased to 0: 2: nice interaction between Kos and Kollar, who finally pushed into the empty goal. Bozen on the ground? Not at all. The white-red reported back in minute 11:40: Stezka initially parried a shot from Misley, but Frank reacted at lightning speed and was allowed to cheer this time. However, the joy only lasted briefly, because in the 16th minute by Zone pulled off the left and set to 1: 3. The Foxes shortened a full seven seconds later, immediately after the bully: Gazley conquered the offensive zone and put on Gersich, who hit the angle with a precise shot. In the final seconds, the same Gersich narrowly missed the equalization. A thrilling first third in the Sparkasse Arena.
The middle third also remained high -class
After a chance for Valentine, the deserved compensation fell in minute 23: a shot from Barberio jumped up unhappily in front of the goal, and Gazley pushed the puck out of the air into the net. Now the events, with dangerous actions by Digiacinto and Misley and a post hit by di Perna, determine the action, with dangerous actions. It is precisely this defense lawyer with the number 90 in the 30th minute made the goal of the evening: a solo from Coast-to-Coast, opponent such as slalom rods curved, shot on the post-and into the net. Standing ovation in the Sparkasse Arena. But Brno came back in the power play: After a missed chance of Gazley, Tomas Zohorna scored from a short distance after passing from Ilomäki to 4: 4. Bolzano also fell back in the majority: In the 33rd minute, Gazley again falsified a pass from Bradley unsustainably.
In the final third, a balanced game developed
Bolzano controlled, Brno had a hard time creating opportunities. After nine minutes, Stransky missed the equalization after a 3-on-2, then Gersich gave the huge chance to 6: 4-his shot on the empty goal went wrong. A good three minutes before the final siren, the guests rely on the Empty-Net trick: in minute 57 Tomas Zohorna hit the short corner to 5: 5.
It went into extra time – and after 60 seconds, the Sparkasse Arena turned into a Tollhaus: Digiacinto put on Gildon, who gave Stezka no chance. 6: 5-and giant celebrations at the white-red fans.
