Setback for Detroit: Kasper and Rossi again on the losing side

The modern NHL also requires extremely fast line change management, i.e. the planning and changing of players so that there is always fresh strength on the ice. These two components have not been implemented efficiently, especially in the last few games. And the successive defeats naturally also influence the self-confidence of the team and players.

His style of play is very reliable, especially on defense, because his forechecking is very strong. This pressure from opponents in their own defensive third is also possible thanks to his strong physical presence. Kasper is also adapting more and more to the NHL pace.

Marco Rossi has also been playing in the NHL since 2020 and was drafted by the Minnesota Wild before Vancouver. The offensively strong striker is known for his extraordinary game intelligence. Technically adept and with good positional play, his passes are often unexpected and creative, especially in attack. As with many young players, the Marcos also need time to gain experience. This is the only way they can make decisions more quickly during the game. The way we train is now also more consciously designed to focus on the development of the players rather than just short-term success.

As in many sports, the structure of modern NHL teams is constantly evolving. The tasks of the players in a line, or line roles, are now clearly defined in modern teams. There is also a high level of tactical discipline. Errors in the lines or in the clearly assigned roles are consistently exploited, especially by top teams. The opposing teams also often show better efficiency in finishing. Of course, especially in close games, the performance of the goalkeepers should not be underestimated and can be decisive. Here, Detroit often lags behind in direct comparison. The team from Detroit is also currently lacking the necessary consistency in the power play. Because it is precisely successes in excess that can tip a game.

The Detroit Red Wings team consists of young and experienced players. The young players in particular still have enormous development potential, while the experienced ones provide stability. Thanks to the experienced players in the team, young talents in particular can gain important experience. But the key areas for long-term success lie in a significant improvement in defense and more consistency in attacking play. Detroit is currently in the middle of the league, but even now small winning streaks can trigger a turnaround. Meanwhile, Kasper and Rossi are gaining valuable experience at the highest level.
