Third home win in the third semi-final game of the series between EK Die Zeller Eisbären and HC Gherdeina valgardena.it: In front of 2,800 fans, the defending champions from Zell am See narrowly won 2-1 and made it 2-1 in the best-of-7 series. Defender Sebastian Zauner only scored the game winner four and a half minutes before the end of the game. The second semi-final series between Meran and Sisak continues with game three on Wednesday.
It was once again an extremely exciting semi-final duel between Zell am See and Val Gardena. After the 2:1 OT opening win, the Eisbären also won the second home game 2:1. In between, the Furie celebrated a clear 5-0 win. Blaz Tomazevic gave the home team the lead in the fourth minute. It stayed that way until the 39th minute before the guests equalized through captain Simon Pitschieler. In the first two thirds, Zell am See clearly set the tone overall (27:10 shots on goal), but everything remained open.
In the final period, the guests even had more shots on goal (10:7), but the home team scored the game-winning goal four and a half minutes before the end. After Matteo Luisetti had to go to the penalty box, the Pinzgauer team used one of their only two powerplay games twelve seconds before the end of the power play. Defender Zauner scored after Tomazevic’s preparatory work to make it 2-1. In the end it was a narrow home win, which means Val Gardena is once again under pressure in front of its home crowd on Thursday (7:30 p.m. / valcome.tv).
