From the lawn onto the ice: Ex-football professional now laces his skates in the Carinthian lower house!

From the lawn onto the ice: Former Bundesliga player Roland Putsche takes an unusual sporting start. After his active football career, the former ÖFB legionnaire no longer laces soccer shoes but straps ice skating shoes.

The 34-year-old looks back on 67 Bundesliga missions for the WAC and was active as a football professional for many years. In the meantime, Roland Putsche even moved to South Africa, where he played several seasons before returning to his Carinthian homeland in 2021 and joining the Atus Velden.

There he ended his time as a kicker in summer. But instead of withdrawing completely from active sport, Putsche has found a new challenge: he starts as an ice hockey player in the second highest Carinthian lower house class for the Lendhafen Seelöwen-this was confirmed by the association on Instagram!
