Last year’s Olimpija Laibach striker Alexandre Lavoie is again without a club. As has now become known, the Canadian and his French employer Marseille have terminated the contract early.
Lavoie only moved to France after his ICEHL season ended after he failed to impress at Olimpija Ljubljana. In the ICE Hockey League, the 30-year-old only managed five goals and 16 assists in 41 games, which meant he fell short of expectations.
Statistically, things went much better in the Ligue Magnus: the flexible center collected 24 scorer points in 26 appearances for Marseille. Nevertheless, the separation took place, and neither side gave any information about the exact reasons.
Lavoie already played in the ICEHL in the 2018/19 season. At that time he collected 34 points in 51 games for HC Innsbruck.
