AlpsHL: EK Zell am See strengthens itself with two ICEHL cracks!

Devin Steffler and Kilian Rappold are moving to the Zeller Eisbären, and thus to their championship team from last year.

A Steffler rarely comes alone: Due to Tyler Cuma’s long-term injury, those responsible at the Zeller Eisbären decided, as they did last year, to borrow Devin Steffler from HC Innsbruck. The 185 cm tall and 86 kg heavy right-handed shooter will probably still be well remembered by Eisbären fans, as he was one of the top performers in last year’s playoffs of the Alps Hockey League. Steffler is moving to Lake Zell on loan.

Kilian Rappold will also be well remembered from last year’s championship team. The Graz-born power forward, who has physical guard dimensions at 188 cm and 91 kg and is also a right-handed shooter, is moving from the Innsbrucker Haien to the Zeller Eisbären via a B license, with Kilian returning to Tyrol for the last four regular season games after the Olympic break.

Kilian Rappold and Devin Steffler are eligible to play in both competitions (Austrian championship and the finish of the Alps Hockey League). #20 Kilian Rappold will celebrate his comeback with the Zeller Eisbären in the first round of the Alps Hockey League Masterround! The same was actually planned for #2 Devin Steffler, but due to Roger Bader’s call-up to the Austrian national team, the top defender will not return to Zell am See until February 8th and will make his debut for the Eisbären on February 12th.

STATEMENTS

Eisbären Managing Director Patrick Schwarz: “We cannot currently estimate exactly how long Tyler Cuma will be out – at least until the end of February. Regardless, our goal was to increase the squad density again, as injuries have unfortunately made life difficult for us too often this season. The targeted reinforcements helped us decisively last season to celebrate the big triumph with our community at the end. Something like that cannot be taken for granted, but we have also taken the best possible precautions this year and done our homework. Devin and Kilian need it You can’t say much – they will be as integrated from day one as they were after final game 5 of last season. A special thank you goes to Günther Hanschitz and Florian Pedevilla from HC Innsbruck for the great and cooperative process.”

Kilian Rappold: “I’m very happy to be returning to the Eisbären Family. We celebrated a great and successful season last year. My goal is to help the team and the club bring this trophy home again!”

Devin Steffler: “I’m really happy to be back in Zell am See and to play in front of the best fans in the league. See you soon, see you in the hall!”
