After the early playoff exit, EC Red Bull Salzburg is working on the squad for the coming season. In this one, three legionnaires will no longer play for the Mozartstadt team.
The Red Bulls’ season ended far too early for the series champions’ taste. They had to give up early against HC Falkensteiner Pustertal – the quarter-finals were the final destination. Of course, this entails personnel changes. Manny Viveiros will no longer be on the boards and some cracks will no longer wear the Salzburg uniform.
Three defenders no longer in the squad
Salzburg’s defense will undergo a general overhaul, as three defenders will no longer be in the squad. Connor Corcoran was Salzburg’s highest-scoring defender with 29 points, but after a year on the Salzach it’s over again. He was most recently associated with the VSV.
The same applies to Devante Stephens, who, like Corcoran, gained his first experience of European ice hockey in Salzburg. The former Buffalo Sabers draft pick played 43 appearances and collected 15 points. Cole Krygier, who joined Salzburg at the beginning of February, only made four appearances.
There is a lot of space in Salzburg’s defense, as currently only Dennis Robertson, Nash Nienhuis and Lukas Hörl are under contract. There’s a lot of work waiting for General Manager Helmut Schlögl here.
