Rasmus Kulmala has extended his contract with Fehérvár AV19 for another year and is continuing his career in the win2day ICE Hockey League. The Finnish-Hungarian striker is entering his third season with the top Hungarian club and remains an important option in the offensive.
Arrive in the ICEHL
Since moving to Fehérvár for the 2024/25 season, Kulmala first had to get used to the higher level of the ICEHL. After several years as a top performer in the first division, the move to a stronger, more international league was clearly noticeable.
In the first year, his point output was comparatively low (7 points in 47 games in the regular season), but this was also due to a more defensive role in the team. Kulmala was often used in bottom-six lines and increasingly took on tasks outside of the pure scoring role.
Development in the basic period 2025/26
There was a slight increase in the current 2025/26 season. Kulmala had 13 points (4 goals, 9 assists) in 47 games.
Even if the numbers still don’t come close to his previous performances in other leagues, a more stable integration into the team can be seen. His game intelligence and experience in particular made him a reliable role player who can be used flexibly in the attack.
The national team player is now extending his contract with the Hungarians for another season.
