After five wins in a row, league leaders KAC suffered another defeat. The Red Jackets lost 2-3 at Olimpija Ljubljana, but are still the leaders going into the 2026 calendar year.

The EC-KAC narrowly lost 2-3 in an exciting top game at Olimpija Ljubljana, thus suffering their first defeat after five wins in a row. It was the second defeat against the Slovenians in the third duel of the season. The Red Jackets’ lead over third-placed Ljubljana is now eight points. At the start of the game everything went according to plan for the leaders: Johannes Dobrovolny, just 17, gave the guests the lead in the 9th minute – his second goal in a row after he had already scored in Vienna on Sunday. Olimpija came into the game stronger in the second third and equalized in the 27th minute through Zach Boychuk. After another KAC lead a short time later, Boychuk scored the equalizer again, and just a little later Alex Petan netted the 3-2 game winner, which sent the almost 4,000 fans in the Hala Tivoli into ecstasy.
