A bitter evening for the Steinbach Black Wings Linz: In the away game in Laibach on Friday there was a clear 4:8 defeat against HK Olimpija. The Upper Austrians were unable to gain access to the game for long stretches and had to admit defeat to an opponent who was superior in all respects.
“It was a tough evening for us. They were better than us in every aspect of the game. They had a higher level of intensity. They ran better. And on top of that, we were undisciplined. Then it will be difficult to keep up. We paid for it,” head coach Philipp Lukas analyzed to the Upper Austrian news.
Linz fell behind early on and followed the game from the start. Although the deficit was temporarily reduced, individual errors and several penalty times made it impossible to turn things around.
