The victory in the first semi-final duel against Fehervar was a hard-earned one, which at least came as no surprise to the players: “We knew that Fehervar would be tough to play. The 99ers president started talks with the successful coach on Saturday about extending their collaboration beyond the season. There is no water level report yet, but one thing is clear: Lacroix is in demand and has “what feels like 1,000 offers from all over Europe,” says Jerich. The entrepreneur says it would be difficult to keep him, “but I will do my best to keep his tactics and expertise in Graz.”

Tomorrow we continue in Szekesfehervar and the grapes are hanging high. The 99ers have not been able to win in Hungary since October 2022. They wouldn’t have to, because the home advantage would make it enough to win all home games. But of course the Styrians would rather not have to play seven games and save their energy for a possible final.
