ICEHL: Surprising comeback at Black Wings Linz!

Next weekend the Steinbach Black Wings Linz will start a two-week away game phase. They will meet the dragons from Ljubljana on Friday on Slovenian soil.

Five days after winning a cracker against the champions, the Linzers are heading to their neighbors Slovenia for the first time in the regular round, who are currently second in the table with 16 points. Last season, the Drachen finished the main round in eighth place and were defeated 0-2 in the pre-playoffs against Pustertal. The Upper Austrians were also able to prevail in three out of four games in a direct duel with the Stahlstadters.

Locker room update

With the win against the champions, Brian Lebler and Co. were able to break out of their series of defeats. Both in the game with the disc and in the game without the disc, the Upper Austrians were able to make great progress and regain some self-confidence. In terms of personnel, there is good news for the game in Slovenia. Although his comeback was not planned before the national team break in November, Sean Collins will return to the Black Wings line-up for the first time tomorrow after his lower body injury. However, you will still have to do without Luis Lindner, Ken Ograjensek and goalkeeper Rasmus Tirronen. The Stahlstadters will be led onto the ice tomorrow evening by Thomas Höneckl and Martin Reder will be used as a back-up goalie.

Three away games in a row

Next Friday, October 17th, Brian Lebler and Co. will travel to the new league team in Budapest. Two days later, the third away game in a row will take place, in which Linz will face Pustertal. The next home game against the Graz 99ers will take place on October 24th in the Linz AG Eisarena.
