New Jersey Devils striker Lammikko: “Vinzenz Rohrer has a chance to get into the NHL”

The Germany Cup is history. For the ÖEHV cracks it’s back to their employers – one showed once again what potential he has.

Austria finished the Germany Cup with one win and two defeats. In the 5-2 win over Germany, Vinzenz Rohrer once again showed his class with three points. An important sense of achievement, as things didn’t really go as planned after returning from North America. So far, in the Zurich Lions uniform, he has two goals and one assist. The good performance in Landshut could give him some impetus again.

Rohrer’s former ZSC colleague Juho Lammikko, who is storming for the New Jersey Devils in the National Hockey League this year, is convinced of the 21-year-old’s qualities. The Finn spent three years with the Zurich team and shone there with 112 points in 144 games. “He’s fast, and that’s a very good quality, and he’s a really professional guy. So I think he has a great chance. But you also have to remember that he’s still very young, so he still has a lot of time. He’s a really humble young man who knows that it’s not going to happen overnight,” Lammikko told NHL.com.

Strong development

The two were teammates for two years, so Lammikko saw the striker’s development from the front row: “He’s made a big step since he arrived there. Last year, he was really, really good and an important player even at his young age.”

For ZSC, league play continues on Friday with an away game in Biel. Recently the Lions found their way better and were able to achieve four successes en suite. This meant they worked their way up to fifth place in the table. The leader from Davos, who has only lost three games so far, is already 18 points short.
