The American striker Corey Mackin is moving within the league: The long-time top performer is leaving the Eispirate Crimmitschau and joining Düsseldorfer EG in the DEL2 for the 2026/27 season.
Mackin made a name for himself especially in the ICEHL when he was one of the absolute leading players for HC Innsbruck for three years. Between 2022 and 2025, the center developed into one of the most reliable scorers in the league. In a total of 135 ICEHL games, he recorded a strong 99 points (37 goals, 62 assists) and impressed not only offensively, but also with his leadership qualities – in his last season he even wore the “C” on his chest. Especially in the 2023/24 season he showed his consistency at a high level with 40 points in 47 games.
After his time in Innsbruck, he moved to the Eispireten Crimmitschau in the DEL2 in January 2025. There, Mackin seamlessly continued his achievements. In his first half season he collected 14 points in 14 games before finally becoming a key player in the following 2025/26 season: 58 points (20 goals, 38 assists) in 45 main round games speak for themselves. He also contributed more points in the playoffs and confirmed his reputation as a strong offensive playmaker.
