ICEHL: Pioneers Vorarlberg could compete against Bolzano for the first time!

The next game is waiting for the Pioneers Vorarlberg today on their own ice cream, the opponent is the HCB South Tyrol. If possible, the first points of the season should be scored against the “Foxes”.

CHL participant as a guest in Feldkirch

In the third game of the still young season, the Nygard cracks with the HCB South Tyrol receive an absolute top team. This year, too, the guests from Bolzano are again a candidate for a top position in Win2day Ice Hockey League.

The “Foxes” are a very experienced team that often defines themselves through physical game. The new head coach at the South Tyrolean is the 64-year-old American Kurt Kleinendorst, who inherited Glen Hanlon and has been associated with the HCB for a long time.

At the start of the championship, Gazley & Co narrowly lost to Master Salzburg, against the Bullen there was also the end of the half -finals in the previous season. The HCB is also involved in the CHL this season, where two of the four games completed so far were won.

Focus on a better start

From the point of view of the Pioneers, the opening weekend was not as desired, after two games captain Macierzynski & Co was still waiting for the first point win. In order to celebrate a sense of achievement against the “Foxes”, a better start will be necessary than in the duels with Linz and Innsbruck. After start-up difficulties and painful early goals, the Nygard cracks fought their way back into play, but the residues could no longer be made up for.

Pioneers coach Johannes Nygard: “It is obvious that we didn’t get started in the first two games. As a team, we talked about the things we have to improve so as not to get into such a situation again.” The Finn was satisfied with the commitment and will: “We always had to go behind, but the team managed to fight back into the game twice.”

Nygard also gave a short view of the upcoming weekend. “We are looking forward to the games against top teams from the league! At the moment it also looks like we could compete for the first time,” the 31 -year -old also announces a probable comeback from veteran Daniel Woger.
