The EC iDM Heat Pumps VSV had to admit defeat to HC Falkensteiner Pustertal in Bruneck with 1:3. This means the Eagles miss out on expanding their gap to 11th place.
HC Falkensteiner Pustertal celebrated a 3-1 home win over EC iDM Heat Pumps VSV. The hosts from South Tyrol had more of the game in the first half and took the lead with a goal from Alan Lobis – after a great overview from Cole Bardreau. It was the fourth goal of the season for the 21-year-old Wolves prospect. In the first section, the South Tyroleans increased their lead to 2-0 through Austin Rueschhoff.
In the second half, the guests from Villach came into the encounter better and knocked on the goal a few times, but were initially unable to overcome Edi Pasquale. Even in the final third, it looked for a long time as if the Pustertal goalie could keep his goal clean. A good 90 seconds before the end, John Hughes scored the late goal. The Villach team once again put everything on one card, but ultimately had to accept an empty-net goal: Rueschhoff made the final score 3-1 with his second goal of the evening.
With this success, Pustertal can only be pushed out of sixth place by the Vienna Capitals. However, the South Tyroleans’ lead is already 17 points.
