The Alps Hockey League starts in exactly 50 days – on September 20 – into its tenth season since it was founded. The league presents itself with a new logo in which mountains are now symbolically depicted. With this redesign, the AHL sets a visible sign of modernity.
For the 10th anniversary, the AHL presents itself with a revised brand appearance. The modernized logo takes up the original idea of the league and underlines the connection to the Alpine region. The new logo is now being used on all official AHL channels.
“We wanted to set a visible sign for the tenth anniversary,” explains Ahl-Board-of Governors Chairman Nicolas Stockhammer, who took over the office on July 1st in accordance with Marcello Cobelli, agreed between the associations. “The new logo combines the geographical identity of the league with a contemporary design and reflects the multinational character of the Alps Hockey League,” continues Stockhammer. In addition to a new Chairman, the Alps Hockey League with Michael Suttnig also has a new commissioner.
Anniversary season begins on September 20th
In the previous nine AHL playing times-although one season could not be fully ended due to the coronavirus pandemic-five different teams were able to crown themselves. So far, the title went to Italy four times, three times to Slovenia and most recently with Zell am See, an Austrian team won the championship for the first time.
On Saturday, September 20, the starting signal for the anniversary season of the multinational league is given. As in the previous year, 13 teams from Austria, Italy, Slovenia and Croatia compete. With Asiago, a traditional location returns to the field of participants.
The mode remains unchanged
The mode remains unchanged compared to the past season. First, all teams play 36 games in the basic round – each team hits each other three times. This is followed by the division into a master round and two qualification round groups. The playoff start will take place on March 03, 2026 with the pre-playoffs, the tenth AHL champion will be determined on April 25, 2026 at the latest.
