Olimpija Ljubljana ends the Graz99ers’ winning streak!

With a 3-2 win after a penalty shootout, Olimpija Ljubljana was able to leave the Styrian capital with a win. The Murstadt team’s successful streak ended after six wins in a row.

Olimpija also won the second duel of the season in Graz and inflicted the first defeat of his tenure on coach Dan Lacroix. After a slow start, new signing Drozg gave the guests the lead in the power play. The middle third was characterized by penalty times and rough scenes, but remained goalless – mainly thanks to several strong saves from 99ers goalie Lagacé. In the final period, the home team turned the game around with goals from Huber (46th) and Bailen (56th), before Meyer equalized to make it 2-2 two minutes before the end. It remained goalless in extra time, but in the shootout Mahkovec and Sabolic secured the extra point for Ljubljana.
