Dieter Knoll about the HCB squad: “Better positioned than last season!”

At HCB South Tyrol Alperia you can look back on a labor -intensive weeks. A lot was worked on the squad, with Cole Schneider the last piece of the puzzle was added. HCB Managing Director and Sports Director Dieter Knoll is satisfied with the personnel requirement.

The Win2Day Ice Hockey League will see a lot of new faces in the Win2day Ice Hockey League. The Foxes struck properly on the transfer market and send an interesting mix into the title race. In addition to Bryce Misley, who has been able to prove itself at Icehl level in recent years, high-quality cracks from abroad were brought.

Dieter Knoll Defender Mark Barberio and striker Cole Schneider would describe as king transfer. Barberio played 272 NHL season games for the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Montreal Canadiens and the Colorado Avalanche before he “said goodbye” to Europe in 2020. For Schneider, the Foxes are the second euro station after the Norwegian Club Storhamar. He was one of the desired candidates of the long-time sports director: “He was one of our candidates from the start. But because he had an ongoing 2-year contract in Norway, our hopes for an obligation were very low,” Knoll told Knoll

But now it worked and the foxes have probably found a new cornerstone of their offensive. In addition to Barberio, the services of the offensive defender Max Gildon were also secured. With him, Pollock from Kosice came. Strong cracks for which you did not fell into financial ruin. Knoll assured that not a single player in the HCB contingent was equipped with a six-digit content.

The new head coach Kurt Kleinendorst, in which Knoll has been interested in a few years now, is now faced with the task of shaping a unit. Starting with a multi -day team camp in Corvara, the South Tyroleans are in the intensive phase of preparation. You can still see the EC Red Bull Salzburg as the title favorite, but Graz has also registered the right to the championship title. In general, some clubs have strengthened well: “I think of Graz, Vienna, Laibach and also at the HC Puster Valley. But I also believe that we too have strengthened and have been better positioned than in the past season,” said the 73-year-old Bolzano, who would also like to lead the HCB’s fortunes for a few years.

Now the view is aimed at the upcoming season for which the subscription sale is going really well. It should already be more than 1,000 subscription owners. The HCB South Tyrol Alperia tests on August 16 against the Wipptal Broncos, on September 12th the foxes will start the new season with a home game against the reigning champion.
