ICEHL: Black Wings Linz collect significant defeat when rehearsing

The Steinbach Black Wings Linz are subject to 1: 4 in its dress rehearsal for the new championship in Augsburg. After the Upper Austrians lasted for a long time, but were too powerless, Brian Lebler and Co. end a positive pre-season with the second defeat in the sixth game.

The Steinbach Black Wings Linz completed a sixth and last test run on Friday evening, a week before the start of the home in the new Win2day Ice Hockey League championship. Head Coach Philipp Lukas-except for the injured Luka Maver-tried his final line-up as a guest at the Augsburg Panthern (DEL). For family reasons, however, the head coach himself was not behind the gang at short notice, which is why Mark Szücs and Matej Hocevar took the sporting leadership. The Stahlstädter received support from around 150 loud supporters who had traveled with the first organized away trip of the fan clubs. The Upper Austrians started play with the first chance and raised a powerful change in the second minute. Sean Collins tried it from an acute angle from the right side, but Augsburg goalie Peyton Jones was on the spot. A little later, Greg Moro fired a long -range shot, but missed his goal. The well-attended Curt-Frenzel Stadium also saw the home side a quick game structure, which increasingly focused on Rasmus Tirrons.

In the seventh minute, the Finnish goalkeeper was on hand with a brilliant act: after several hidden degrees had come to his goal, Anthony Louis suddenly appeared completely freely in the middle and was served a cross pass in front of the empty gate. However, the striker did not put his racket on the disc, so Tirrons just scratched the puck with a pike jump and his racket. In the eleventh minute, the fourth line of the guests ensured a quick counterattack: Henrik Neubauer skilfully prevailed in the running duel, but failed on the left post on Jones. In return, Bayern did better, which were again completely surprisingly a huge chance of leading the lead. This time Alexander Blank escaped his opponents in the slot and held the racket in a sharp cross, but Tirrons closed his legs in time. Augsburg now secured increasingly more pane possession and repeatedly rotated in the third of the Stahlstadt. The guests, on the other hand, put on a quick switching game, and in such a suddenly Graham Knott picked up speed in the 14th minute. The goalkeeper danced from his own blue line to the attack zone, but moved away. The solo brought up his teammates: the newly formed Lebler-Line set up pressure, and after a good overview of newcomer Travis Barron, captain Brian Lebler came to a conclusion, but also moved away. In the same change, Greg Moro got a passenger passport in a good position, but did not bring the disc under control and failed. Three minutes before the first break, Sean Collins had to go into the cabin prematurely. The veteran crashed into his own housing in a duel and limped from the ice. With this drop of bitterness, the Upper Austrians changed sides for the first time at 0-0.

Augsburg with leadership in unspectacular third -party third

The middle third started much calmer, and so the first five minutes passed without any noteworthy actions. Both teams bridged the neutral zone several times, but neutralized themselves early in the attack and hardly came to promising deals. Finally, the Panther grew something again and started their advance towards Linz Tor with several spacer shots. Rasmus Tirronen grabbed several times and was again challenged in the 26th minute when the return train was quick. Cramarossa concluded dangerously on the left side, but the goalkeeper fended off aside. In return, Ryan Mackinnon came to the end of Jones on a lot of traffic, but no customer found himself for the rebound. In the 34th minute it was time: after a duel won on the gang, the panther put the pane at lightning speed in the middle, where Anthony Louis found the gap with a placed wristhot and scored 1-0. In return, the Stahlstadt residents had the great chance to equalize: Brian Lebler put it in the goal area, but the home side were able to free the disc from the danger zone with united forces. An almost identical scene came up two minutes later: Söllinger fled the window onto the goal, she jumped down in front of Henrik Neubauer, but the Austrro-Swede could not control the puck because a defender just hit him away. Shortly thereafter, ST-Amant fueled with a counterattack on the right, but failed due to Jones, who parried with the blocker. With the narrow 0: 1 deficit from Linz’s point of view, the final section went.

Panther make everything clear

Once there, the Upper Austrians made life difficult when Ken Ograjensek put his opponent in Forechecking and conceded the first two minutes of penalty of the evening. The Panther pressed and used their outnumbered in the third attempt: Alexander Blank was too free on the left and scored with a precise shot in the right -wing cruise to 2: 0. But in return, the Linzer also got their first overpainting chance. They also rotated in the third for a long time, but were not successful. Initially, Lebler put a shot from a short distance just over the crossbar, after which ST-Amant and Ograjensek missed a pass to the middle-the possibility of the connection was gone.

However, this fell a little later, in the 47th minute, although the guests had to act outnumbered again: Graham Knott caught a pass and started the counterattack together with Logan Roe. Knott laid in the two-on-one, and Roe used on the right side ice cold to 1: 2. However, it only took a few seconds before Augsburg restored the old lead in the same power play. At the right Hashmarks, DJ Busecker took a direct shot and sank it to 3: 1 in the mesh (48th minute). With this, the match turned into the last eight minutes in which the guests tried, but compared to the first five test games became a little more powerless and played too little forward. In the 54th minute it was a turnover on his own line that finally brought the decision. Tim Wohlgemuth was up and off after the discovery of discovery and scored the 4: 1 with a nice hook. In the final phase, the guests ran behind, but struggled with double outnumbered outnumbered with 29 seconds.

In the end, the Steinbach Black Wings Linz with the second defeat from six games summed up a bottom line. In a week, on Friday, September 12th, the head of head coach Philipp Lukas will open the new championship with a home game against the Pioneers Vorarlberg.
