EC Red Bull Salzburg lost 3-2 to Hydro Fehérvár AV19 in the away game of the win2day ICE Hockey League and returned from Hungary without any points.
Given the course of the game, points would have been absolutely deserved, but three seconds before the end the home team scored the winning goal in the power play after the Red Bulls had dominated most of the final third. Before that, Travis St. Denis took the early lead, Florian Baltram equalized 2-2 in the second period. For Salzburg, who competed without the suspended Thomas Raffl, it was the fourth defeat in October.
Head coach Manny Viveiros said: “That’s really bad luck, we were the better team overall today. The effort was there, and we can also be happy with the performance. Up to the goal, only there was a bit of a lack of luck. Of course that hurts, we would have deserved at least a point today.”
