ICEHL: HC Innsbruck aims for three points in the West derby!

Yesterday’s 1:4 against the EC-KAC was the fifth defeat in a row for the Haie. The team, the fans, the entire club – everyone desperately needs a sense of success. Today in Feldkirch there is a fight against them Pioneers Vorarlberg a trend reversal can finally be initiated. Troy Lajeunessethe Haie’s only goalscorer against the KAC, is combative: “I expect three points, everyone in the dressing room does that. We want to catch up with them in the table, that’s the next goal. We know that they have played good ice hockey recently, but we can do that too.” Against the KAC, the HCI also lacked the necessary luck in one situation or another. That’s something we have to work for, says Lajeunesse: “The disc doesn’t jump here and there for us, but I’m sure it’ll come back. We just have to keep working hard.”

The Pioneers are six points ahead of the Sharks in the table with two games less. Vorarlberg recently showed strong performances, winning four of the last eight games. Among other things, the Pioneers celebrated victories against the top teams Olimpija Ljubljana and HC Pustertal. The situation for sharks is different. Since their last meeting with the Pioneers in mid-November, the Sharks have only celebrated two wins in seventeen games. However, the H2H with Vorarlberg looks positive. The Sharks and the Pioneers have met four times this season. The Tyroleans always came off the ice as winners, both in the two pre-season games and in the league.
