Vienna Capitals coach Constantine: “Ice hockey is really fun in the STEFFL Arena!”

The Vienna Capitals celebrated a 3-2 win over HC TIWAG Innsbruck on Saturday evening in head coach Kevin Constantine’s home debut. For the Viennese it was the first win after three defeats in a row.

Steven Owre gives the guests the lead in the 12th minute with a power play goal. Zane Franklin turned the game around with a brace (31st, 47th), Carter Souch increased the score in the 54th minute. Owre’s goal in the 56th minute was no longer enough to turn things around. Tomorrow the Caps continue with an away game at EC iDM Heat Pumps VSV (5 p.m.).

Statement Kevin Constantine, head coach of the Vienna Capitals

“In the first few moments I just let my gaze wander around the STEFFL Arena and thought to myself that there are a lot of people here with a lot of energy. It’s very important for us that we were able to win. Zane’s two goals, first to equalize and then to take the lead, were elementary today. Carter’s goal was also very important, as it was enough to win. We played well, but we just have to put the puck in the goal to win. We had good chances, brought a lot of energy and They spent a lot of time in their zone in the first third with a well-played power play goal. Then you’re on the bench, playing well and the scoreboard doesn’t reflect that. An ice hockey game lasts 60 minutes, so you can’t be discouraged by the score during the game.
