KAC loses heated test against Vienna Capitals!

The EC-KAC made up for a two-goal deficit in its third pre-season game, but ultimately had to bow to the Vienna Capitals with 2: 3 after extra time.

The first major chance of the game created Linden Vey with a diagonal pass from the right to the long post, Carter Souch pulled off, the puck roamed Florian Vorauer and then the crossbar (3rd). The EC-KAC was really dangerous for the first time in the minute of play: Sebastian Wraneschitz gave the rebound at the long-range shot of Jesper Jensen Aabo, Raphael Herburger only pressed the puck from a short distance to the leg lovers of the caps goalies. After a Murray tourno, the solo opportunity for Maximilian Theirich, Vorauer read his hook on the backhand and defended well (12th). A backhand wraparound by Mathias from was held outside by Wraneschitz, the goalkeeper then prevented the Klagenfurt lead when he knocked a fraser swing in baseball manner with his stick (15th). The first goal went to the guests’ account: Vey won the Faceoff, Hackl pulled off and unhappily steered the goal in his own goal when trying to block (19th). With the final siren, Vienna’s goalkeeper almost went wrong with a hundred pound degree, but the window jumped by the fishing hand deflected in parabola curve over the crossbar (20th).

In the second section, there was initially little mandatory, then the Donaustädter doubled their lead: Randy Gazzola led the puck out of his own zone to the baseline, then withdrawn diagonally by return and carter souch exploited from the right Hashmarks (29th). The game cooked up when Zane Franklin interfered from behind in a Fraser/Hackl fist fight, there was a line Brawl, at the end of which the red jackets came to her first power play, which, however, remained without countable. After Gazzola had hit the outer rod from the left wing in the counter (35.), the home side also came onto the scoreboard: Clemens Unterweger fled from the left -wing group of Scharf, Daniel Obersteiner fell without maintenance in front of the goal area (35.). The red jackets still had two good equalization opportunities before the second break: Finn van Ee put a direct acceptance from the slot in the middle of Wraneschitz (38th), Mathias From Castle only parallel to the goal line at a rebound from an acute angle (40th).

The third round was opened by a KAC PowerPlay, in the course of which Thomas Hundred Pfund lifted a rebound from an acute angle over the housing (43.), also set too high his visor Luka Gomboc, who was sent on the trip by Jesper Jensen Aabo in solo (46.). After a wafer-thin unsuccessful Petersen deflection of a nickl shot pass (46.), the red jackets made the deserved balance: after the Faceoff won, Jordan Murray went deep on the left, his pass found the Thimo Nickl, which was raised on the long post, the completed (50th). When a Unterweger Schlenzer jumped back from the box from the glass, Hackl disturbed Petersen ready to stop at the last moment (51st). Finn van EE got stuck from a short distance (56.), a vey to play after a strong diagonal movement at the long rod Senna Peters from a poor angle did not barely over the line (58.). Because Raphael Herburger completed the center of the center 25 seconds before the end of the center, it went into the overtime, in which the capitals benefited from a red and white gymnastics on the offensive: Marco Richter Schoss from right, from the leg shear Florian Vorauer jumped to the left to Randy Gazzola, who had no trouble to fix the victory for the guests (62.).

Post game comment from Head Coach Kirk Furey:

“At first we did not get our rhythm well, which actually only succeeded in the second third when the game became more heated. From then on we did a good job, that was more of the identity of our team. You have to stay at the end, we did not succeed until the end: In the Overtime, we have briefly lived up and Vienna was already in your goals. Pre-Season is not a broken leg, we take today’s positive things.
