The semi-final series between KHL Sisak and HC Meran/o Pircher cannot start on Thursday as originally planned.
The reason for this is that numerous players at Meran are ill, which is why the Italians are currently unable to field the minimum squad of ten field players plus a goalkeeper. The series will now start with a doubleheader in Sisak on Saturday, March 28th and Sunday, March 29th. The second semi-final series between defending champions EK Die Zeller Eisbären and HC Gherdeina valgardena.it begins as planned on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in Zell am See and can be seen live on Valcome.tv.
HC Meran/o Pircher has informed the Alps Hockey League that due to numerous cases of illness, a semi-final start on Thursday is not possible. They are currently unable to field the minimum squad of ten field players plus a goalkeeper. After the league doctor consulted with the Meran team doctors, Sisak was also informed of the current status, and on Wednesday there was finally a video call with league representatives and both clubs.
The following procedure was agreed upon by all those involved: The series will begin with a doubleheader in Sisak on Saturday, March 28th and Sunday, March 29th. This will be followed by two games in Merano on Wednesday, April 1st and Thursday, April 2nd. All further games will – if necessary – be played on the originally scheduled dates.
