The Vienna Capitals put the first game of the new season of the Win2day Ice Hockey League in the sand. At Olimpija Ljubljana, the Viennese lose 1: 8.
The only highlight from the perspective of the capital is the lead goal by Randy Gazzola in minute. Evan Polei (10th, 55th), Marcel Mahkovec (27th), Nate Halbert (34th), Robert Sabolic (37th, 57./PP1) and TJ Brennan (46., 54.) ensure the ultimately violent removal.
Head coach Gerry Flemming found clear words after the game: “We actually got into the first third, but in the further course they were superior in all matters. If that is the case, such results come out. After such a game, we all have to look and question each other. That was the first game, but we have to improve in all areas.”
On Sunday, the caps must have a significant increase in performance at the first home game against FTC-Telekom Budapest (5.30 p.m.).
