The EC iDM Heat Pumps VSV and Nikita Scherbak have mutually agreed not to continue the collaboration. The 30-year-old striker will therefore leave the club and will no longer appear in the blue and white uniform in the future.
The Moscow-born Russian moved to Villach from the French Ligue Magnus (Angers) for the 2024/25 season and played for the Adler in the past two years. In total, Scherbak played 103 games for VSV, scoring 23 goals and contributing 62 assists. With a total of 87 points and a plus-minus balance of +9, he was one of the most offensively productive players on the team.
Scherbak can also look back on a remarkable career internationally: He was selected 16th in the first round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft and played a total of 37 games in the NHL for the Montreal Canadiens and the Los Angeles Kings.
After two seasons in the blue and white dress, our time together in Villach is now coming to an end. Both sides have agreed not to extend the expiring contract.
The EC iDM Heat Pumps VSV would like to thank Nikita Scherbak for his commitment and achievements and wishes him all the best for his future sporting and personal future.
