Working papers are still missing: Neo-Graz coach Lacroix is initially watching the 99ers from the stands

Canadian coach Dan Lacroix has arrived in Graz and started his duties with the 99ers. The 56-year-old was signed by sports director Philipp Pinter and president Herbert Jerich and presented himself to the team on Wednesday morning.

Lacroix gave his first speech in the Graz99ers dressing room. Although, as President Jerich emphasizes, he is considered a “luminary” and Pinter describes him to the “Kronen Zeitung” as someone who is “burning brightly for this job”, he still has to be patient due to Austrian labor laws. Lacroix will only be allowed to take the ice and conduct training once his working papers are valid, which is expected to be early next week.

Until then, the new coach will watch the games from the stands. Lacroix himself presented himself as a “passionate guy and hard worker” and emphasized the team’s potential. The sporting goals remain high: The 99ers want to be in the top 3 and play for the title.
