Graz99ers-Backup Wieser: “I just have to take the games I get”

Born in Villacher Nicolas Wieser, the Moser Medical Graz99ers goes into his fourth season. Again the talented Austro goalie takes the position of number 2.

The EBEL debut of the now 28-year-old goalkeeper has been back for many years, Wieser, who spent many years in the organization of the EC Red Bull Salzburg, was really back with the Grazers. In 2022 he moved from the Salzach to the Mur and stood on the ice in 32 games in the past three seasons.

His performance in the past season was strong, which led the 99ers to Game 7 of the quarter -final series against the Black Wings Linz. In twelve basic passage operations, Wieser came up with a fishing rate of strong 92.4% and was able to keep his goal -cutting goal cut at only 1.9. An enormous development step by the Carinthian, who of course was supported by a significantly stronger squad of the Styrian.

Now everyone is looking at the start of the season next Sunday. The Grazers open their season with a guest performance at HC Falkensteiner Puster Valley. Head coach Harry Lange goes into the new season with a strong goalie duo, because “in front of” Wieser is the royal transfer of the Murstadt, Maxime Lagace. “The collaboration has been working really well so far and I can certainly learn a lot from him. We get on well,” Wieser told the “Kleine Zeitung”. “I just have to take the games I get and then I want to help the team as best they can.”
