Red Bull Hockey Juniors and KHL Sisak, the two leading teams in the Alps Hockey League, each celebrated a win on Saturday. Salzburg defended their lead in the table with a clear home win against Gherdeina, while Sisak picked up three important away points in Zell am See. The EC Bregenzerwald prevailed in Ritten and achieved another important success. Kitzbühel, Asiago and Cortina also celebrated home wins.
Red Bull Hockey Juniors – HC Gherdeina valgardena.it 5:2
The juniors started the game strongly and had the game under control for long stretches. Jesse Juhola scored twice – including an early power play goal – and added in the second period. Benedikt Krainer, Vadim Schreiner and Maxim Eliseev also got on the scoresheet, ensuring the seventh win from the last eight games and the next home win for Salzburg, who remain at the top of the table.
EK The Zeller Eisbären – KHL Sisak 1:3
KHL Sisak stays close to the Juniors thanks to a hard-fought away win in Zell am See. Bohdan Panasenko gave the guests the lead in the power play, shortly afterwards Marijus Dumcius increased it to 2-0. Paul Schmid reduced the score to 1:2 late in the third period, but Danila Larionovs made it all clear with an empty-net goal.
Rittner Buam SkyAlps – EC Bregenzerwald 3:5
EC Bregenzerwald celebrated their fourth success in a row with an away win in Ritten. The home side took the lead early through Brandon Alderson, but Roberts Lipsbergs and Markus Mußbacher turned the game around in the middle period. Fabian Ranftl followed up before Toivo Laaksonen fixed the final score shortly before the end with a goal into the empty goal.
Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel – Hockey Unterland Cavaliers 5:1
Kitzbühel showed a strong performance in front of their own audience and celebrated their seventh win of the season. Yoan Loshing led his team with a goal and an assist. Lukas Waschnig, Jakob Engelhart, Henrik Hochfilzer and Clemens Krainz also scored. Goalie Markus Gratzer shone with 28 saves and a catch rate of .966.
HC Migross Asiago – Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan 7:3
Asiago impressed in front of 2,220 fans with an offensive gala and secured their next victory. Alessandro Parco and Ryan Valentini led the team, while Jose Magnabosco Aguirre and Robert Calisti also scored. Despite a committed performance, the Broncos were unable to match Asiago’s pace and depth.
SG Cortina Hafro – HDD Jesenice 5:2
Cortina returned with a convincing 5-2 home win over Jesenice. The hosts took a three-goal lead in the first third and never gave up the game after that. Giorgio Panciera and Filippo Pompanin each scored twice, while goalie Antti Karjalainen secured the success with a strong performance.
