HCB Südtirol can hope for an important reinforcement in the final spurt of the season: top defender Mark Barberio is about to make his comeback. Dieter Knoll, managing director and sports director of Bolzano, confirmed this in an interview with “Sportnews”.
“I expect a lot from Mark Barberio’s return,” explained Knoll. The defense chief’s recovery is going extremely well. Thanks to the “excellent work of our medical department around Christian Thuile,” Barberio is making great progress.
The Canadian, who has recently been missing everywhere, is much more than just a top performer for the team. “He is not only an outstanding player, but also a leader and a very pleasant person. Everyone has respect for him – including his teammates,” continued Knoll.
In view of Barberio’s return, the HCB does not expect any activity on the transfer market. “I don’t have anything planned at the moment. We’re pretty broadly positioned,” Knoll clarified. Barberio, who was presented as the Foxes’ key transfer before the season, could become a key factor in the fight for the decisive points.
