AlpsHL: Narrow home win for Jesenice in the only Friday game!

In the only Friday game of the Alps Hockey League, HDD Jesenice narrowly prevailed against HC Meran/o Pircher. The Slovenians made up for a deficit twice and finally got the upper hand in the shootout with 4:3.

Jesenice got off to a good start in a largely balanced game and took the lead in the 14th minute through Sodja Zalokar in the power play. The visitors, who had previously celebrated two wins in a row, turned the game in their favor in the middle period with goals from Cruseman and Trivellato. In the final third, fans saw three goals in just four minutes. First, Hrobat Plemelj equalized to make it 2-2, but Meran responded promptly – Claesson scored to take the lead again. Jenko finally made it 3-3 and sent the game into extra time.

After a goalless overtime, Svetina decided the exciting duel in the shootout in favor of the home team. With the additional point, Jesenice improved to eleventh place, while Meran climbed to ninth place thanks to the point.
