Things are getting tight in defense at VSV. Two defenders will be out for a longer period of time, which is why Arturs Kulda’s contract will probably be extended.
VSV came out of the international break strong with two wins and wants to continue this upward trend next weekend against Laibach and in Fehervar.
However, you have to accept setbacks in terms of personnel. After Alex Wall, who was out for several weeks with a broken rib, Thomas Vallant will also have to take a few weeks off.
Kulda will stay
Therefore, Arturs Kulda will probably stay in Villach beyond his temporary contract. The 37-year-old has signed with the Eagles until the end of November, but his commitment will probably continue.
Sports director Herbert Hohenberger told the “Kronen Zeitung”: “He has stabilized our defense and would like to stay – there is nothing wrong with keeping him.” It’s probably just a matter of financial details, then nothing stands in the way of extending the contract.
Youngsters stay in Villach
But the youngsters Nico Uschan and Julian Raspotnig should also be promoted. Both will stay in Villach until the end of November, so they will not be sent to cooperation partner Kitzbühel and will receive valuable ice time.
