Preseason: First Alpshl team starts the season with victory!

The Red Bull Hockey Juniors start preparing with a convincing 3-1 win against HC Energie Karlovy Vary. Already next week at the EVZ Prospects Challenge in Zug the next show show with international top teams is waiting.

In the first third, the juniors started powerfully and earned good chances early on. In the 9th minute of play, Maxsim Eliseev rewarded the efforts with the 1-0 lead goal. After that, the home side increasingly took control, while Karlovy Vary found better into play at the end of the third – but there were no more.

The second section belonged entirely to the home side: in the 26th minute of the game, Adrian Geson increased to 2: 0 after Florian Lanzinger was presented. Just three minutes later, Lanzinger entered the goal scorer list and placed 3: 0 (29th). The Czechs tried to answer, but Juniors goalie Luca Haitzmann showed several strong parades and kept the zero.

In the final third, David Poizl scored the goal in minute 42. The juniors reacted at a higher pace and defended the lead in an increasingly physical game, even in several outnumbered situations, confidently over time.

With a successful start in the luggage, the Red Bull Hockey Juniors travel to the renowned EVZ Prospects Challenge on Tuesday. There they meet the host EV Zug and on strong young teams such as HC Bílí Tygři Liberec (Czech Republic), Tappara Tampere (Finland), Rögle BK (Sweden) and the ZSC Lions (Switzerland).

Captain Adrian Gesson: “It was definitely an intensive game, and you have noticed that we have not contested a match for a long time. We have some new faces in the team, but the chemistry is growing from day to day, and we can be satisfied with our current performance. Now we want to develop in the next games – especially in Switzerland, where train and tampers are looking for two strong opponents.”
