HC Bozen lost its sixth and final CHL group game against the reigning SHL champion Lulea Hockey 3-2 after overtime. The CHL season is now over for the Foxes!
The Swedish top club Luleå Hockey secured their ticket to the round of 16 with their victory. In the 19th minute, Eetu Koivistoinen gave the home team the lead before the Finn also scored to make it 2-0 in the 36th minute. Just under two minutes later, Matt Bradley reduced the score to 1:2 on the power play. The narrow deficit remained until 97 seconds before the end of the final period, when Bozen – with an additional field player because goalkeeper Sam Harvey had left the ice – managed to equalize through Cole Schneider. However, it only took 14 seconds in overtime before the home team secured the extra point and thus dashed Bozen’s dream of reaching the round of 16.
