The hat is burning in Székesfehérvár. The Hungarian ICEHL club Fehérvár AV19 is once again in crisis – and after the 1:7 debacle at the Black Wings Linz, the end of head coach David Kiss seems to be only a matter of time. Insider Bernd Freimüller reports that the dismissal is almost fixed. This could already be the third coach dismissal of this season.
Since moving to the new hall, things just don’t work anymore. Last year, Fehérvár collapsed after a strong start and slipped out of the playoff positions. This year too, the team is lagging behind expectations – only 16 points from 13 games, along with weak performances and an increasingly insecure impression.
The 1:7 in Linz was the low point of a disappointing season so far. Little of the former passion and aggressiveness remains; the team appears unimaginative and defensively vulnerable. The club is still officially silent, but the signs are clearly pointing to a separation.
