After four recent defeats en suite, the Steinbach Black Wings Linz turned back to winning ways in front of their home crowd. They celebrated a 4-1 win against HC TIWAG Innsbruck – Die Haie.
The Steinbach Black Wings Linz beat HC TIWAG Innsbruck 4-1 in front of 4,865 spectators in the Linz Ice Arena, ending a four-game losing streak. In a game that was evenly balanced for long stretches, three goals in the final third ensured a clear home win for the Upper Austrians. The home team got off to a better start and took the lead in the first half through Christoph Tialler, who scored his first goal in the 2025 calendar year (13th). Innsbruck improved in the middle third, kept the game open and rewarded themselves with an equalizer from Patrick Kudla (39′) shortly before the second break. In the final section, Linz increasingly took control. Patrick Söllinger gave the Black Wings the lead again with a long-range shot (46′), before Black Wing’s new signing Yohann Auvitu made the decision with two goals within two minutes (52′, 54′). Innsbruck failed to score again in the final third, so Linz confidently secured the win. This meant that the Linzers climbed back into the top 10.
