It was really “Wars bars” for this 52nd and last evening of the regular season. The one between the 6th and 7th place only concerned two clubs, Friborg and Kloten. With one point ahead, the dragons had their destiny in hand and they did not tremble, even in front of their ex, Chris Didomenico, who came with Ambri to solidify his place in play-in. A 4-1 success which took shape in the third third thanks to a 2-1 very quickly scored by Schmid after 37 seconds in the third third. Wallmark and Bertschy classified the case around the 50th.
Like Thursday in Lausanne, Christoph Bertschy played all the roles: that of the scorer and that of the unruly who places his team in inferiority numerical. Faced with the LHC, that had had no consequences. Against Ambri, Maillet put 12 seconds to equalize at the 39th, responding to the opening of the Bertschy score in the 23rd. But whatever in the end since Friborg will play against Bern in the quarterfinals of the play-offs.
In the Zurich derby, the Lions dominated Kloten 4-2. But the reigning Swiss champion was hot after leading 3-0. Returning to 3-2 in the median third, the airmen finally cashed 4-2 in the last minute. Zurich ends the season in second place, while Kloten (7th) will play the play-in against Langnau (8th). On his ice cream and facing Ajoie, Langnau never trembled to validate his ticket. A 5-1 success which was already ratified in mid-match since the Emmentalois led 4-0, thanks in particular to three goals from the “Super Darios”, Rohrbach and Allenspach.
The fight for Play-In places was breathless. Because even if Geneva very quickly lost foot in Bern to finally bow 5-1, there was a scenario where the eagles could still go on the right side. This was necessary for Bienne to bow to Lugano and that Rapperswil will lose against Davos in overtime or to penalties.
If Bienne suffered the awakening of Jiri Sekac, author of a double, for a 4-2 defeat, all the eyes turned to Raporswil. The score was from 1-1 to 59’10, a moment chosen by Nicklas Jensen to deceive Aeschlimann and offer the play-in to its colors in front of a delirious audience. A nod of fate, Jensen had missed a huge opportunity a few minutes earlier in Power-Play. 9th, Rapperswil will therefore face Ambri-Piotta in play-in. And as a reminder, the winner of this series will then play against the loser of the series between Kloten and Langnau for the last place in the play-off.
Bienne ends the season in 11th row and Geneva in the 12th.
In the last match, Lausanne left Zug with a 4-1 defeat. The Zugois will welcome Davos in the quarterfinals.
