Anna Meixner will no longer play for the Ottawa Charge in the Professional Women’s Hockey League with immediate effect. The captain of the Austrian national team was transferred to the league newcomer Vancouver Goldeneyes as part of a larger trade, as both clubs officially confirmed.
This is the 31-year-old from Salzburg’s second season in the PWHL. Last season she reached the final with Ottawa, but was defeated by Minnesota 3-1. In a total of 49 PWHL appearances so far, the Zell native has scored three goals and three assists.
Meixner could make her debut for Vancouver on Friday night against Toronto. The Goldeneyes are currently in eighth and last place in the league.
