Rossi after conclusion of the contract: “I am relieved that this is now done”

After his contract extension with the Minnesota Wild, Marco Rossi is noticeably relieved in an interview with the “Kronen Zeitung”. For a long time it was unclear where the Vorarlberg will put his skates in the coming season.

“I am relieved that this is now done. It’s a great feeling. Now I can fully concentrate on sport again,” emphasizes the Vorarlberger, who is currently preparing for the coming season in his home country.

Clear goal in mind

With the new contract, Rossi is in fourth place in his team’s internal salary ranking-however, the sporting aspect is crucial for the Austrian NHL export: “I always think from year to year and do not worry about what is in the third year. My focus is on the team.”

He clearly formulates his big goal: “We have a lot planned. The ultimate goal is, of course, to win the Stanley Cup.” The anticipation of seeing again with his teammates is great: “I am already looking forward to it when I go over and I see the boys.”

Degradation in the playoff

In the past regular season, Rossi recorded a personal record of 60 scorer points with 24 goals and 36 assists and was therefore the second best point collector of his team. Nevertheless, he was put into the fourth line in the play-offs against the Vegas Golden Knights and received only the third most important ice age of the team. Despite the limited role, he scored two goals and an assist.
