David Reinbacher is currently in his second season in the American Hockey League (AHL) and is doing well there. Bitter: now the Vorarlberger could be out again.
Laval Rocket lead the AHL’s North Division with 52 points after 41 games. David Reinbacher also played in 33 games and recorded four goals and ten assists. The defender also found his way onto the scoreboard in the last game when he was able to make it 2-1 against the Calgary Wranglers when he was outnumbered.
But the encounter unfortunately ended prematurely for the 5th overall pick from the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. After a check on Martin Frk’s head, Reinbacher had to go into the dressing room. “The Canadians’ medical staff decided that the 21-year-old couldn’t continue: The team doctor advised him not to continue playing,” says father Harald Reinbacher. “David underwent the normal protocol that is required if a head injury is suspected. There will be further medical checks, I don’t assume that it is serious,” said father Harald Reinbacher to the “Vorarlberg news“.
The regular season of the American Hockey League runs until April 19th, when Laval Rocket will play its last regular season game against the Toronto Marlies.
